UFC88 “BREAKTHROUGH” LIVE IN ATLANTA

Everyone loves to watch the UFC Pay per Views on the big 10 foot projection screen at the MCAS SMP Liberty Center but with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) coming to Atlanta and bringing with it a marquee match up, there will be a limited number of single Marines and Sailors from the Tri-Command will be there to witness it live and in person.

The mixed martial arts competition will be at Philips Arena on Sept. 6 for UFC 88 “Breakthrough” with a light heavyweight battle between Chuck Liddell and Rashad Evans.

The match up between Liddell, the former champion, and Evans, who is undefeated, was to take place a year ago on the UFC 85 card in London. But Liddell tore a hamstring and was forced to withdraw.
Other bouts on the card will be announced later.

The Tri-Command Single Marine & Sailor Program has purchased a limited number of great seats for this event and is offering them to eligible Marines and Sailors on a first come, first served basis at the SMP price of only
$150 per person that will include round trip transportation to Atlanta from MCAS Beaufort, over night accommodations at the Holiday Inn – Downtown Atlanta on International Blvd (only three blocks from the venue) and a great reserved seat for this LIVE UFC event.

While your friends are sitting here at the MCAS SMP Liberty Center or watching the PPV on TV from the house, these lucky SMP Marines and Sailors will be there in the Phillips Arena getting to see the UFC stars live and in person.

Liddell (21-5) is attempting to regain his world title, currently held by Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Also known as “The Iceman”, Liddell has appeared in several movies, television shows and music videos. He most recently appeared as himself in an episode of HBO's "Entourage."

Evans (16-0-1) won the heavyweight division in the second season of the reality television show "The Ultimate Fighter," which was produced by Spike TV and the UFC. He has since dropped to his natural weight class at 205 pounds.

To reserve you seat for this exciting SMP trip, you will be required to complete a SMP Command Permission Slip (link below) or have a completed PTAD request from your command authorizing you to attend and will have to put down a minimum deposit of $50.
