Outdoor Recreation / Gear Issue

We have a checkout center, which rent a wide variety of outdoor recreation equipment on a daily or weekly basis. These centers assist customers in avoiding the expense of buying items they will not use on a regular basis. Items range from indoor and outdoor sports and recreation equipment to fully rigged boats, barbecue grills and camping supplies. Download Price List [ click here ]
Boat Rental

  • Must be an MCCS Boating Permit Cardholder
  • Provide proof of insurance for the vehicle used for towing the rental boat
  • Complete a rental application including personal information, names of passengers, and your float plan (destination).
  • Clean your rental boat prior to returning it.

To obtain your boating permit, you must do the following:

  • View a 70-minute video on boating safety and boat operation. This video is shown from between the hours of 0830 and 1500 daily.
  • Complete a 50 question boating safety test. This test may be taken at the Outdoor Recreation facility or taken home to complete.

Camper Rental

  • Provide proof of insurance for the vehicle used for towing the rental camper
  • Complete a rental application including personal information and your destination.
  • Clean your rental camper prior to returning it. Equipment must be cleaned before returning.

Patrons turning in equipment late will be charged the daily rental fee. Equipment must be cleaned before returning. Cleaning charge applies to items returned NOT CLEAN.

Saturdays 0800-1200. Free Instruction: Trained, professional experts are available for instruction and guidance. Range Safety Officers are on duty. Eye and ear protection equipment is available. $10 range fee includes target and frames. Discounted rates for groups of 5 or more.
