Physical Fitness
The goal of Physical Fitness is to improve the quality of life for the members of our community, and to enhance readiness through the promotion and supporting of healthy lifestyles. Group fitness classes and personal training are offered on both MCAS Beaufort or MCRD Parris Island. The Semper Fit Physical fitness program provides guidance on exercise, injury prevention and nutritional information.


PSYCHLE: The Ride Home! Come out and show your support for our Armed Forces overseas! Join this collaborative effort to ride the distance (6211 mi.) from Bagdad to Washington, DC. Each participant will list their mileage for each class on our log. We will total & post our progress for you & our overseas friends. Our completion goal is May 15, 2010: Armed Forces Day! Mileage will be accumulated during classes. flyer
The MCRD Outdoor Pool is temporarily closed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. An alternative for Water Aerobics is the Naval Hospital Pool that can be used on Fridays at 5:00 pm and Saturdays at 11:00 am.
MCAS Beaufort
Cardio Step A cardio workout for the entire body. All levels
Interval Challenge Intervals of a variety of cardio and resistance training for multi levels of total conditioning. Advanced.
Interval Step Alternating cardio-step with light dumbbell exercise. All levels.
Step Warm-up cardio step, cool down with abdominals and stretching. Will provide guidance for pregnant and postpartum participants. Beginner, Intermediate.
*Unit PT available - class size limited.

Please request two weeks in advance to arrange Unit PT. E-mail with POC; phone number and email address; name of unit; number of participants; desired date and time for class; length of class and type of instruction desired.

MCRD Parris Island
Core Conditioning A variety of exercises for your core – abdominals, low back, and obliques etc. Try one or try them all! All levels welcome!
Hydrocise 60 minutes of ultra low-impact shallow water exercise. Safe and fun for all levels (summers only).
Spin Indoor cycling, a non-impact exercise, allows you to participate at your own level. Bring a water bottle. All levels.

The goal of Health Promotion is to improve the quality of life for the members of our community and enhance readiness through mitigation and elimination of unhealthy lifestyles. The program is designed to educate personnel about health risks, enabling informed decisions about their own health. Health Promotions offers a variety of classes to all patrons. They include nutrition, stress, alcohol awareness and many more.

Yoga Training

Yoga Training Classes

Yoga classes are based on the ancient practice of Yoga that helps individuals attain one of the greatest gifts of all - good health. Personal gains (a more flexible, strengthened and toned exterior) builds self-esteem. A wellness strategy combining both health promotion and exercise through Yoga and Pilates can facilitate positive lifestyle changes for you!

The benefits of Yoga include:

  • increased flexibility
  • better balance
  • increased lubrication in tendons and joints
  • working of internal organs and glands of the body
  • reduce stress
  • tone the body

Bring your own yoga mat, a water bottle and a small towel. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. No shoes needed during practice. Our classes are designed a a beginner's level approach to Yoga, and vary in styles to suit your needs.
