Wheelock College
Wheelock College, founded by Lucy Wheelock in 1888, is for those who have the desire to change the world.

MISSION
Wheelock’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families. Our graduates are changing society and are at the forefront in reforming our schools, social welfare programs, and health care services. They are changing the world for children and families.

DEGREES
We are the premier institution preparing students for careers in education, social work, and the field of child life. Just as there are schools for the arts or engineering, there is also a college for those with the unique type of intelligence that is about caring, understanding, empathy, and connection, a college for people who believe in making a difference. Wheelock College’s majors are organized under four divisions: Arts and Sciences; Child and Family Studies; Education; and Social Work.

A PLACE FOR YOU
Wheelock College is the place for you because you have the gift. You know how to encourage, how to inspire, how to care. And you understand how important it is to make a difference in the world.

OUR PROGRAMS
Wheelock’s programs are among the best in the nation. Wheelock offers Associate, Bachelors and Masters degree programs. Wheelock’s programs are designed to ensure that upon completing our college requirements and the State Licensure requirements, you will receive appropriate certification in your chosen field of study.

OUR GRADUATES
Wheelock graduates pursue careers in diverse fields, but the majority choose one of the main professions: teaching; child life; or social work. Many have founded the nation’s preschools and child care centers, as well run and teach in them today; those who created the first onsite corporate day care, and those who advocate on all levels for standards and quality, are Wheelock graduates.

OUR FACULTY
As a Wheelock student, you’ll be challenged and supported by faculty members who are committed to teaching and to your individual success. While their first commitment is to teaching, Wheelock’s faculty members are nationally-known for their work outside the classroom. At Wheelock, you will learn from professors who continually shape the profession and set standards for the future.
