Afterburners is a brand new state of the art recreation facility under the direct management of the Single Marine Program. The Single Marine Program works to ensure Single Marines and Sailors, single parents, and geographical bachelor’s life in Beaufort is the best it can be, however the facility is available for all hands, dependents and authorized Department of Defense (DoD) employee usage.
Afterburners can quench any thirst. The facility features a main bar, SNCO Bar, outdoor Tiki Bar, and snack bar that serves Seattle’s Best Coffee.
For indoor recreation, there are over 20 TVs all with ESPN Game Plan and NFL Ticket, a media room with stadium seating and laptops available for checkout as the building is Wi-Fi enabled. Printing is always free. Afterburners has five pool tables and all the major video game consoles: Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3.
Outdoor activities are abundant. The outdoor pool table, full basketball court, volleyball court, and regulation horseshoe pits with Kentucky blue clay are top of the line.
Afterburners is equipped for special events. There is space available to reserve for PME sessions and a kitchen for catered events. Two stages are available for bands, functions, or special events. All Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) pay-per-views are shown for free, and a variety of other special events will be hosted courtesy of Marine Corps Community Services South Carolina and the Tri-Command Single Marine and Sailor Program. |
